Soliciting prints for publication

topic posted Mon, October 30, 2006 - 8:57 PM by  jamaica
Hello, I'm the art editor for a student-run literary magazine and I'd really like to have some prints published in this years' issue. I'm looking for black and white prints, of any topic or nature. This is unpaid, but if your work is accepted you get to see your work in print and get a free copy of the magazine.

You can send images to:
reed_mag_art@yahoo.com

or submit by mail (8.5x11 prints, not originals) to:
ATTN: Art Editor
Reed Magazine
SJSU English Department
One Washington Square
San Jose, CA 95192-0090

We are accepting submissions until November 10, 2006. Thank you!

hi, I just saw your note. I might have a print or two you'd probably like. What kind of resolution would you need? Jpg format? Those are smaller prints I'm thinking of, so you probably cannot blow them up to a huge format. I assume copyright for the piece would stay with me, you just get the rights for this particular use of the print, correct?

      Hi Andreas,
At this point I can take any size jpg that I can print out to show the rest of the staff what your work looks like, and we'll get back to you if we need a higher-res copy for printing. the book is about 5x8, and small prints would work fine. And yes, you retain rights to your art.
Hope to see some work from you! Let any other printmakers know about this who you think might be interested.
